Show notes

Headline
This week’s headline that caught my eye was “UK tourists to US may get asked to hand in passwords or be denied entry” from The Guardian which was published on Sunday 9 April – read full article. What do you think about this? Let me know in the Comments below.

Question time
What’s your your Twitter handle?  Please post your Twitter handle in the Comments below to facilitate Twitter networking with other watchers of The #SocialMediaShow.

Social media tip
This week’s tip is to use hashtags on Twitter and Instagram that relate to the season or events. Join the conversation by adding an appropriate hashtag to your tweets and Instagram posts. Using Spring is OK but better to look for events connected with Spring or are trending and link into those.

Tools talk
This week’s tool is Storybase at http://storybase.com – a free content idea generating tool. It’s great for getting ideas for blogs and social media posts. Just type in a key word for a display of related terms that people are searching for across the internet. I particularly like the questions which are identified. You could use these for blog post titles or as email subjects to attract the reader’s attention. Most of the functions are free or you can upgrade for additional features like demographics.
