As a regular user of a number of Facebook Groups, which I use to network as well as manage events, I noticed a great new feature last week – the ability to upload documents. This is a significant change for Facebook which puts it in competition with services like Google Docs and Dropbox.
Ever struggled to email a large document to a colleague for review or amendment? Well now you can use Facebook. What’s more the new feature comes with version control so you can you can keep track of amendments and who’s made them. No need to email a document to and fro and loose track of which is the latest version.
The ability to store documents on Facebook is a natural fit for Groups of which I’ve been a fan for some time. If you manage projects, run a network or events, share a common interest with people or belong to any sort of group they are worth looking at for communication and collaboration.
