It might seem a small change but it’s worth pointing out that Twitter have added an Embed Tweet link to the More menu on twitter.com where it joins the Email Tweet link – another handy option. Also new is a preview of your what your tweet will look like after it’s been embedded. You can view examples of embedded tweets in my article on real time marketing during the Super Bowl.
It’s now easier to obtain the code for embedding a tweet on your website or blog – 2 click less to obtain the code required to embed your tweet.
Here’s how:
Hover over the tweet you wish to embed then select More then Embed Tweet. You’ll see the code you need along with a Preview. If you are update your own website then copy and paste this code into the HTML of the page.
Embedded tweets are great feature that’s very much underused. As explored in a previous article there are some nice benefits to embedded tweets and I’d encourage you to take advantage. You can also embed your own timeline on your website but with embedded tweets you can choose the exact tweet you wish to display which can be yours or anyone else’s.
