Great new features for local business Facebook Pages

In Monday 13 August’s The #SocialMediaShow, broadcast by Cardiff Social Media Agency, Intranet Future Jonathan Pollinger takes a look at the latest Facebook Page features plus provides some tips on how to make the best use of your Page.

The #SocialMediaShow is aimed at people who use social media for business and it’s purpose is to increase your knowledge and improve your use of social media.

Facebook has announced a number of changes (view Facebook announcement) to the layout of Facebook business pages on mobile making them easier to interact with. For example, if you’re looking at the Page of a restaurant or nail salon, you can now easily book a reservation or appointment through Facebook from the page. The redesign is coming first to restaurants, local services then TV shows with custom design changes coming to other Pages soon. Other improvements are:

  • Stories and Job Application Tool now rolled out to all Pages
  • People can now browse businesses and local events on Facebook Local App (iOS and Android)
  • Reviews are becoming Recommendations with better visibility plus tagging
  • Events are being improved with ticket purchasing available via third parties
